Low-risk applicants can get GST registration in three working days

From 1 November 2025, low-risk applicants can opt for automated GST registration within three working days, including those whose tax on supplies to registered persons is within ₹2.5 lakh a month.

What changed

Since 1 November 2025, GST registration is available in three working days on an opt-in, automated basis for low-risk applicants. This covers applicants whose tax on supplies to registered persons is within ₹2.5 lakh a month, and other applicants classed as low-risk.

Who it affects

New Indian subsidiaries, including GCCs and trading companies, that need a GST number before invoicing.

Check whether your new entity qualifies as low-risk, and plan GST registration as step 9 of the incorporation sequence, after the certificate of incorporation and capital infusion.
